We specialize in the construction and remodeling of kitchens, baths, whole house renovations, trim, and decks. Since 2012, Walker Construction has worked on over 100+ projects ranging from a custom exterior facade up-do to a one-of-a-kind home theater. Unlike a typical general contractor, we not only manage our projects, but we also do most of the work in-house. We self-perform all demolition, framing, insulation, waterproofing, and of course, finish carpentry! We also work with some of the leading subcontractors of the area and have a close-knit group of tradesmen that we use on every single one of our projects. Our goal is that you will never feel like there is a stranger working in your house!
Walker Construction is owned and operated by Tyler and Hazel Walker. Tyler’s extensive knowledge in all aspects of the construction process paired with Hazel’s architecture & design background and construction management skills have created a partnership that ensures first rate results for every project they take on.
Since the young age of four, Tyler has been fascinated with the craft behind building and is continuously working to expand his knowledge of the trade. He started Walker Construction when he was 19 years old before he went to Appalachian State University to further his studies. He graduated in 2015 with a Bachelors of Science in Construction Management.
Hazel graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelors of Science in Interior Design in 2015 then with a Masters in Technology with a concentration in Sustainable Design and Construction in 2018. She joined Walker Construction in July 2022 after working in residential and commercial architecture for 7 years prior. This shift has allowed her to participate in a more hands-on way with her work and be an integral part of projects from start to finish.
